I have over 14,400 Facebook, 17,300 LinkedIn, 7,600 Twitter and 4,700 Google+ contacts. How did I build my Social Media network to over 44,000 contacts? A lot of hard work over a long time! Here’s how I did it.
I created a Facebook profile. I did searches for family, friends and people I wanted to do business with and sent them friend requests. I sent their friend’s friend requests. I accepted friend requests. When I reached the 5,000 friend limit per profile, I created a second profile and then a third. I created a Independent Talk 1100 KFNX business page. I invited my friends and email contacts to like my page. I shared my page on my profiles and group. I searched businesses I wanted to do business with and liked their page. I sent friend requests to people who liked their pages. I created a KFNX business group. I made it an open group so anyone can join. I added my friends to my group. I shared my group on my profiles and page. I joined other groups and sent their members friend requests and added them to my group. I created KFNX events attended other’s events and and sent friend requests to attendees. I monitored my notifications’ activity, sent friend requests to people that interacted with me, liked business pages and joined groups.
I created a LinkedIn profile. I included the number of my connections next to my name. I included that I am an open networker, LION and accept all invites in my headline. I searched for people I wanted to do business with using advanced searches and sent them invitations to connect. I sent out bulk invitations to my email contacts. I accepted all requests to connect. I created a KFNX business group. I made it auto-join so anyone could automatically join. I sent out invites to my connections to join my group. I shared my group on my profile. I joined the maximum number of groups you can join, 50. I joined groups with people I wanted to do business with and connect with. I joined industry groups and also joined open networker, LION and Top-Linked groups. I sent out invites to connect to group members. I created a KFNX company page. I followed other pages of businesses I want to do business with. I monitored my notifications’ activity and sent invitations to people that interacted with me.
I created Twitter personal and KFNX business profiles. I searched for people and businesses I wanted to do business with to follow and followed them. I also searched for popular accounts by interesting topics to follow. Since you’re limited on the number of people you can follow based on your number of followers, I followed people and businesses that hopefully followed me back so I could follow more people and businesses. I followed my email contacts and invited them to join Twitter. I monitored my activity for people to follow who interacted with me and followed me. I created lists of Twitter users and subscribed to other’s lists and followed members of lists.
I created a Google+ personal profile. I created circles for family, friends, my business and industry. I searched for people I wanted to do business with and added them to my circles. I searched for people who added me to their circles and added them to mine. I searched my gmail contacts and added them to my circles. I created a KFNX business page and community, searched for people to add and shared them with my circles. I created a KFNX community. I created KFNX events and joined other’s events and added attendees to my circles.
I added icons for all of my Social Media KFNX business pages to my KFNX website homepage with links to them. I added all of my Social Media icons to my marketing literature. I added all of personal Social Media profiles’ addresses to my business card. I sent out invitations for all of my Social Media networks to people that I met networking and received their business cards. I sent out emails to my email database asking people to connect with me on all of my Social Media networks.
So now you know how I built my Social Media network to over 44,000 contacts. Are you doing everything to build yours? Why not? I look forward to connecting with you on all of your Social Media networks. And remember to connect with me on all of mine.
