Born and raised right here in Phoenix, Fred's fascination for the automobile began when he was a child playing with toy cars. As a teenager, he would help his dad repair the family cars. One day Fred's dad come home from work and was horrified to find the automatic transmission from one of the family vehicles torn apart in the driveway. Fred removed the transmission from the car as the car would not move when its transmission was put into gear. Well Fred managed to reassemble that transmission, reinstall it into the car, and the transmission worked!
When Fred was 16, his first job working on cars was at a gas station. By the time he was 21, he was managing the gas station. While there he earned his Master Automobile Technician Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). During that time Fred had developed a reputation for repairing the difficult electrical system and computer system problems that other technicians could not repair.
In 1996 while attending an emissions controls class at Gateway Community College, Fred was asked to teach automotive technology at the college. Fred was an adjunct faculty member at Gateway for 10 years. In 2001 he was recruited to train professional auto technicians for a national auto parts company. Fred continued training for that company until the end of 2011.
Currently Fred focuses his time on running his auto service center, Tech 1 Auto, located in Peoria, Arizona. Tech 1 Auto services and repairs cars, light trucks, medium duty trucks, both foreign and domestic.
