Matthew Battaglia is originally from New York and also grew up there. He attended and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has an extensive business career starting in his early twenties, working in a few sales, management and marketing fields before settling into radio. Radio opportunities with KFNX 1100 brought him to the valley in 1998. He was promoted over time to the Business Manager at KFNX 1100, and eventually became a minority owner in the station. He has many interests and also is involved in some community organizations around the valley, including the Men's Arts Council. He is married to his wife, Amy and they live in Tempe, AZ.
As production manager, Robert is responsible for much of the audio content on KFNX. He scripts, voices and directs commercials. Also, our local hosts rely on Robert for help with developing their on-air skills, selection of show theme music, news clips and sound effects. He gives show hosts guidance on selecting their topics, news stories and guests. A couple of decades ago he worked as a touring concert stagehand.(nice way of saying “roadie”) He quit the roadie life because it didn’t agree with his diet. Robert loves radio and hopes that he will expire while sitting behind the microphone.
Chet originally hails from Denver, Colorado and made his proffessional radio debut with the Brian and Kate morning show at 91X in San Diego. He later moved to Los Angeles where he worked in Television, Film and had a great run with Mark and Brian at the presigious 95.5 KLOS. In 2003 he brought his skill set to KFNX and has been a “five tool guy” for the station ever since. He specializes in the operations and technical aspects of all programming. He also enjoys co hosting shows and doing extensive voice over work. Like I said, Five tool guy…
Michael O’Connor started his career in radio more than 4 decades ago, when he broke the Chicago Market and worked for WWEL at Chicago’s prestigious Pick Congress Hotel.
